Key PeopleChris Lamaison, BSc in chemistry, started in market research for BOC and has 25 years of marketing high technology products for Edwards High Vacuum, Hughes Aircraft Company and Graseby, primarily in Europe, USA, Middle East and Africa. He has experience in securing business through collaborative partnerships and has established and revitalised agency networks worldwide. He started Cambridge Resolution in February 1998. Andrew Wilkinson, MA (Cantab), MIEE and a Fellow of the Royal Microscopical Society, had various engineering roles in Marconi, Chelmsford. He has worked in several sales, marketing and business development positions within a number of small to medium sized hi-tech companies. Technologies covered by these companies are Satellite Communications, high performance camera and image processing systems and speech technology software. Andrew joins Cambridge Resolution from Microsoft where he was responsible for business development of mobile Internet solutions within the mobile telephony market segment. His broad grasp of scientific principles within physical and life sciences is an asset for cross-disciplinary hi-tech companies. Alan Cousens, PhD (Cantab) CEng, MBA and MSc (economics). Alan has held senior management roles in a variety of high technology manufacturing companies, all operating internationally. He has been Managing Director of companies in electronics sub-contract manufacturing, quality assurance systems for the food processing industry, and several medical device companies. Alan has worked for Cambridge Electronic Industries plc, Smiths Industries plc and Oxford Instruments plc. He has a wide range of business development experience, including start-up and acquisitions (buying as well as being the target) technology licensing. Alan is an Associate Lecturer with the Open University Business School, and a Senior Research Fellow at Cranfield University's School of Management where he is working with an industrial consortium on strategies for manufacturing operations. Stephen Rawlings, PhD (Cantab). Stephen has a wealth of experience in bioscience gleaned from work in both the academic and business sectors. He worked in top laboratories in the UK, USA and France before leading an internationally renown research group in Geneva. In addition, he has wide-ranging international commercial experience, having worked in product development and business development roles in Europe. Stephen has been a freelance biotech consultant since 1999, producing market reports and commercial strategies on a range of technologies including biochips, high throughput drug screening technologies, micro- and nano-technologies, bioinformatics and industrial inkjet. He has a passion for the promotion of bio-business and works closely with university and governmental organisations in this area. Stephen has published over 30 papers in both academic and commercial sectors and is regularly called upon to provide advice and present his ideas worldwide. Mike Halpin, Liverpool University School of Dental Surgery. Mike started his commercial career in Glaxo. In the UK he spent ten years on marketing roles with Esso Petroleum. An experienced International Business Development Manager with 13 years in OHMEDA, a global leader in anaesthesia and critical care products (part of BOC Group) including nine years in the Middle East. Over the last four years, Mike has developed Europe, the Far East and Asia for two UK healthcare companies, Clement Clarke International and Deltex Medical plc. CCI manufacture respiratory care, anti asthma, anti allergy and COPD treatment products and Deltex manufacture cardiac output and haemodynamic monitoring products.
